Italian Geometric Suspension Lamp with Murano Glass, 1960s–1970s

€2.750,00

Geometric suspension lamp with Murano glass, Italy, circa 1960s–1970s. A black rectilinear frame gives the lamp its architectural poise, with ribbed frosted glass panels held within the structure.

Italian lighting of the 1960s and 1970s often treated the lamp as a small spatial object, shaped by geometry, visible structure and controlled diffusion. In this period, designers gave increasing attention to the fixture’s casing, shade and frame, making these elements active parts of the design. Suspension lamps were especially suited to this architectural approach: their rods, frames and diffusers could be read in relation to the room as much as to the light source. In this example, the black frame sets a disciplined outline, while the ribbed frosted Murano glass moderates the light and adds depth to the linear form. The result is a measured Italian suspension lamp in which structure, glass and illumination are held in a precise relationship.
