Fisch (1922–2007) was a Hungarian-born painter, sculptor, and architect who forged his career in the post-war Parisian art scene. After studying at the Budapest University of Fine Arts and the Academy of Arts in Rome, he moved to Paris in the late 1950s and exhibited there regularly in solo and group shows. Fisch’s work drew on constructivist traditions (reflecting his training in architecture) as well as the expressive abstraction of the École de Paris, yielding a oeuvre of “vibrating forms” and tangled lines – infused with emotional intensity.
