This mixed-media work on paper, titled Composition and dated 1997, exemplifies Wanda Davanzo’s mature abstract style. Trained in Paris and later active in Argentina and France, Davanzo developed a visual language that merged the gestural freedom of European lyrical abstraction with the vibrancy of her international career. In 1970s France she co-founded Group V, bringing together artists engaged in abstract experimentation, and by the 1990s her work embraced varied techniques and a heightened dynamism. This signed and dated composition reflects her lifelong exploration of space, rhythm, and balance, distilled into a compact format.
